Read the Matcha names and the vanilla blocks together

The Matcha Flavored Minecraft furnace route uses familiar Java blocks as the foundation for a different progression. Kindling is a Campfire underneath, the Mud Kiln is a Smoker, and the Oven is a Furnace. The Blast Furnace and Smithing Table keep their familiar block identities but use altered recipes and roles. Knowing both names matters: the player-facing name explains the pack, while the vanilla identity helps diagnose a missing resource pack or interpret recipe data.

Do not begin by forcing the vanilla eight-cobblestone furnace recipe. The early heat source is Kindling, followed by the Mud Kiln. Higher-temperature metal work belongs to the Blast Furnace, while the Oven arrives after iron and supports food and normal furnace processes. This order is the central answer behind searches for a Matcha Flavored furnace, oven, iron smelting, and steel: the requested station may be two steps later than vanilla muscle memory expects.

• Kindling — Campfire underneath; early cooking and workstation ingredient.

• Oven — Furnace underneath; unlocked after iron.

Build the Mud Kiln before looking for an Oven

Start with a wooden hoe and use it on short grass. Cook the grass on Kindling to make dry grass, then follow the visible recipe and advancement trail through packed mud and mud bricks. Pack 1.03 builds the Mud Kiln from four mud bricks, two packed mud blocks, and one Kindling. In the shaped recipe, mud bricks sit in the upper corners and lower corners, packed mud fills the middle sides, and Kindling occupies the bottom center.

The result is the block Minecraft stores as a Smoker, renamed Mud Kiln by the active Matcha Flavoured resource pack. If the crafted block says Smoker, the recipe may still work but the client resources are missing or mismatched. Stop and align the resource-pack copy with the world data copy before relying on names or icons. A correct Mud Kiln is the bridge from gathered plant material into copper, masonry, and the hotter station that iron requires.

Turn kiln masonry into a Blast Furnace

Use the Mud Kiln to process cobblestone into limestone, then process limestone again for smooth stone. Keep the newly unlocked masonry recipes visible because the Blast Furnace needs both smooth stone and stone bricks. The 1.03 recipe uses four stone bricks, two smooth stone blocks, and one Kindling: stone bricks occupy the two upper side pairs, smooth stone sits in the lower corners, and Kindling goes in the bottom center.

This station is not an optional speed upgrade. It is the required heat level for raw iron and Raw Silver. If you place raw iron in the Mud Kiln and nothing happens, the installation is not necessarily broken; the material is waiting for the Blast Furnace stage. Craft the station, hold it long enough for the tutorial criterion to register, place it, and then reopen the recipe book before deciding that the metal route failed.

Blast raw iron, then add carbon to make steel

Put raw iron or supported iron materials in the Blast Furnace to receive iron ingots. Matcha Flavoured treats iron as a useful base metal rather than the final answer: the tutorial describes it as a host for Steel. Once the ingot enters your inventory, check the new recipe path instead of trying to use a Mud Kiln or normal furnace process. This is the direct fix for the common question, “How do I smelt iron in Matcha Flavored Minecraft?”

For Steel, combine four iron ingots with one coal block in a shapeless recipe. That produces four pieces of Carbon-Rich Iron. Put the Carbon-Rich Iron through the Blast Furnace; each piece becomes Steel Alloy. Keep the resource pack active because the custom intermediate uses a vanilla base item underneath. A piglin-brute spawn egg appearance or the name Resin Brick indicates that data and resources are out of sync, not that the recipe deliberately created a usable spawn egg or building brick.

Use iron for the Oven and steel for the Smithing Table

The Oven is the normal Furnace block under the Matcha resource pack, but its recipe is not the vanilla cobblestone ring. Place three iron ingots across the top row, four brick blocks on the left and right of the middle and bottom rows, and one Kindling in the bottom center. The result supports food and processes assigned to a furnace rather than the earthen or high-metal tiers.

The Smithing Table arrives after Steel. Place two Steel Alloys across the top row and a two-by-two square of any planks underneath. Its purpose is to modify compatible base-metal equipment with specialized alloys. Creating the table does not mean every alloy works on every item, so read the visible smithing recipe and the equipment description before spending rare material. Find silver in mountain emerald generation and verify the result

Pack 1.03 uses emerald ore generation as Native Silver. Search mountain terrain where vanilla emerald ore can generate, with better odds at higher elevations, and mine the block for Raw Silver. The active resource pack presents the intended silver texture and name; underneath, the raw drop uses a prismarine shard. Process Raw Silver in the Blast Furnace to receive Silver Bullion, which uses prismarine crystals underneath and feeds later apotropaic equipment routes.

When any step fails, separate progression from installation. A recipe that never appears may need its parent advancement or inventory trigger. Correct mechanics with vanilla names indicate missing client resources. Correct textures with no smelting or advancement behavior indicate that the world data copy is absent. Confirm pack 1.03, Java 26.2, the load message, a selected matching resource pack, and a clean test world before altering recipes or downloading a community fix.
