Why this guide exists

Matcha Flavoured changes enough of Minecraft survival that familiar advice can become actively misleading. New players often need a small answer—where the download belongs, why an item looks wrong, or what the next early-game step is—before they are ready to explore the larger design. This guide is organized around those player moments rather than the internal directory structure of the data pack.

The site uses Matcha Flavored as its primary American-English spelling because that is how many players search. Matcha Flavoured remains the official project name and appears throughout the site. Both spellings always refer to the same project by klei_wright.

What counts as evidence

The strongest rules source is the release archive: executable recipes, advancements, functions, loot, trades, predicates, tags, enchantments, and registries. Player-facing language and item assets map component-based implementation records to the names shown in game. The creator's Modrinth project and version notes provide release context and intent. Community posts and videos reveal where players are confused, but they do not override the current pack.

Automatic YouTube subtitles are treated as leads, never as final wording. Pack definitions and resource-pack language provide context for transcript claims; behavior can also depend on the Minecraft engine and random conditions. If a subtitle names the wrong ingredient, item, station, effect, or quantity, the transcript is rejected for that fact and the discrepancy is not repeated for keyword coverage.

Every main guide names the pack and Minecraft version it covers. The internal pack 1.12 analysis retains the archive checksum, source relationships, and quality warnings for editorial review, but raw filenames and implementation inventories are not presented as player guidance. When a release changes behavior, the version history preserves the distinction instead of silently presenting an old answer as current.
